The Silver Alert is designed to alert the public to vulnerable missing persons with dementia or cognitive deficits. We believe that by alerting the public we can give these people the best chance of being found, and returned to their loved ones.
Why implement the silver alert this way? Despite many people with dementia and autism dying on the streets of Metro Vancouver and elsewhere in BC, the government has chosen not to implement this service. So we decided to do it ourselves.
Sign up to be alerted if there is a missing person in your area. Alerts are vetted missing persons who fit the criteria for vulnerability (autism, cognitive deficit, Alzheimer's disease, dementia). These may happen several times a year at most.
