CANCELLED: Confirmed by Vancouver police

Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing elderly woman with dementia.

Eighty-year-old Lee Jewitt left her residence near Hudson Street and Southwest Marine Drive around noon today and has not been heard from since. Lee has recently moved to Vancouver and may be disoriented. She may not remember her name or address.

Lee is described as white, 5’6″ tall, with a heavy build and grey hair in a long pony tail.  It is not known what she was wearing, but is likely not dressed appropriately for the weather.  Lee walks slowly with a limp.

A search of the area around her home, along with checks of local hospitals, cab companies, transit, and other police agencies have failed to turn up any sign of Ms. Jewitt. She has gone missing before and has been located in the Marpole area of Vancouver.

Anyone who sees Lee Jewitt is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately, ask for police and ambulance, and stay with her until officers arrive.
