Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing elderly man with Alzheimer’s.

Seventy-eight-year-old Thai Lang Ly was last seen in the area of Main Street and East Broadway at about 3:00 this afternoon. He was out with his wife when he wandered off.

Mr. Ly is described as Asian, 5’6” tall with grey hair and brown eyes. He is not very mobile, walks with a cane, and was wearing a black and white jacket and a beige hat.

The missing man speaks Vietnamese and Cantonese and can be identified by a medical bracelet he wears.

A search of the area, as well as checks of local hospitals, transit and other police jurisdictions has failed to locate him.

Anyone who sees Thai Lang Ly is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately and stay with him until officers arrive.

Cancelled: Missing 70 year old John Cook

Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing elderly man suffering from dementia and other medical conditions.

Seventy-year-old John Cook was last seen at 3:15 pm yesterday at his care home near East 22nd Avenue and Renfrew Street.

Mr. Cook is described as white, 5’07” tall, 170 lbs, with blue eyes and grey hair. He was wearing blue jeans, brown shoes, a long sleeve sky blue shirt with a Grouse mountain T-shirt underneath and a black fleece jacket.

John will continue to walk until he tires and will not be able to find his way back to his residence.

Anyone who sees John Cook is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately, ask for police and ambulance and keep an eye on him until officers arrive. Do not approach him as it is unknown how he will react to a stranger.

On May 10, 2016 at 3:29 p.m. the Salmon Arm RCMP received a report that 70 year old Christopher Allbury had not been seen since May 6th at 1:30 a.m. after being dropped off at his care home facility.

The care home staff and police are most concerned for Christopher’s well-being as he suffers from mental health issues and dementia.

Christopher is described as being 6’ 1 tall, weighing 160 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing pyjama bottoms and a shirt of unknown descriptors.

If you see Christopher please call 911.

Hua Hai Mai - missing

Vancouver Police are searching for eighty-five-year-old Hua Hai Mai, who was last seen in the 1500 block of East 57th Avenue around 11 a.m.

He is Asian, 5’9″ tall, has a skinny build, and short black hair.  He walks using a brown cane. He was likely wearing a black blazer, dress pants and white runners. Mr. Mai suffers from Dementia.

He likes to take transit and has a bus pass with his name, address and phone number on it on a lanyard around his neck.

Mr. Mai speaks Cantonese and does not speak English.

Anyone who sees Hua Hai Mai is asked to call 9-1-1.

Sixty-four-year-old Patricia Alsop suffers from Dementia and was last seen around 1 p.m. at her home in the 1200 block of Haro Street.

She is white, has a medium build, a dark brown ponytail, and she wears glasses. When last seen, she was wearing a black and white striped top and dark pants.

Patricia may have headed to her old home on Moberly Road near False Creek.

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 73 year old Leticia Alvaro. Mrs. Alvaro is an elderly Filipino female standing approximately 4’10 inches tall with a medium build, and short black and grey hair. Mrs. Alvaro has Alzheimer’s, is diabetic, and has previously gone missing.

Mrs. Alvaro was last seen today at about 10:00am at a business in the 500 block of 6th Street, wearing a grey sweater, grey pants, and a red or green jacket, with white tennis shoes.

“Our patrol officers are actively looking for Mrs. Alvaro, and we are asking for the public’s assistance to help find her,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott.

Seventy-one year-old Takayoshi Nakayama was last seen around 4 p.m. on March 6th in the area of Renfrew Street and Grandview Highway.

He is Asian, 5’4″ tall, weighs 150 lbs., has brown eyes and short grey hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black blazer, dark green shoes and a green hat.

Mr. Nakayama is fit, likes to walk and also uses transit.

Anyone who sees Takayoshi Nakayama is asked to call 9-1-1 and stay with him until police arrive.

The Oceanside RCMP is looking for public’s assistance in locating missing Bowser man, James Roberts.

81 year old James Roberts was last seen on February 4th, leaving his residence in Bowser near the Lighthouse Community Centre at 10:30 a.m. James Roberts suffers from Dementia and left on foot in an unknown direction. He is quite possibly disoriented.

Description of James Roberts: Caucasian, 6 foot 2 tall, slender, short grey hair, green eyes.

Wearing: Blue jeans, green jacket, brown and white hat, and glasses.
