Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing elderly woman.
Eighty-five-year-old Rufina Tablan left her home near East 6th Avenue and Fraser Street at 9:00 a.m. this morning and has not been heard from since. Rufina requires medication daily and suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Ms. Tablan is described as Asian, 4’10” tall, 100 lbs with dark greying hair and wears glasses. It is unknown what she was last wearing, but usually carries a black and white purse, has a lanyard with family contact information and uses a red walker with a basket.
A search of the area around her home, along with checks of local hospitals, cab companies, transit, and other police agencies, have failed to turn up any sign of the missing woman.
Anyone who sees Rufina Tablan is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately, ask for police and ambulance, and stay with her until officers arrive.
