Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing man with dementia.
Seventy-one year-old Martin William Bakewell, who often identifies himself using the first name of Dave, recently moved to the Lower Mainland from Vancouver Island. He was last seen around noon yesterday at his home on Balmoral Street near East 56th Avenue.
Mr. Bakewell is white, 5’10” tall, 200 lbs., balding with short salt and pepper hair on the sides, and has hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark bomber jacket, blue jeans, a tan patterned polo shirt, black shoes, and he may have been wearing eye glasses.
There is no history of going missing and it is possible he may have taken a ferry to Nanaimo.
Anyone who sees Martin “Dave” Bakewell is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately, ask for police and ambulance and stay with him until officers arrive.
